Jimi Hendrix – West Coast Seattle Boy, The Radio Special is an hour-long excursion into the life and times of Jimi Hendrix as seen through the lens of a new four CD release. By showcasing the rare, newly-released, and archival music presented on the new CD’s, the radio special gives a unique glimpse into the creative genius that was James Marshall Hendrix. Interviews include Jimi’s sister, Janie Hendrix, his engineer, Eddie Kramer, and musicians such as Billy Cox, Ernie Isley, Steve Winwood, Robert Randolph, George Thorogood, and Jack Casady – to name just a few. In addition, the special features rare interviews with those who have passed including Experience members Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell, Chas Chandler (who ‘discovered’ Jimi and produced the first Experience albums), and Jimi’s friend Velvet Turner. The special also dips into a very rare interview with Jimi Hendrix from 1967 in Sweden, an interview performed BEFORE the release of the first Experience album and the band’s triumphant American debut at Monterey Pop.
