The Guitar Show with Kevin Bacon BMPAudio
The Guitar Show with Kevin Bacon features guests such as Eddie Van Halen, Carlos Santana, Joe Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Satriani and more of the biggest names as they talk, play and listen along with the audience to what makes the guitar a favorite of Rock. In-depth interviews exploring their influences, their signature sounds, behind-the-scene stories, misadventures on the road, techniques, equipment and even the latest computer programs and devices are discussed. Listeners hear favorite guitar riffs and the greatest music delivered by guitar-fronted bands. It’s all orchestrated by a very personable and upbeat Kevin Bacon, who can relate to his guitar slinging guests, having recorded and toured with his brother.
Kevin Bacon voiced his enthusiasm for the show, “I get so much energy out of playing the guitar and just listening to the great artistry. With the guests we’ll have and the music we’ll highlight, that energy will be there centerstage for every show.” David Kantor noted, “Rock listeners’ fascination with the guitar make The Guitar Show with Kevin Bacon an immediate draw. Add in a great talent like Kevin Bacon and his interest with guitar aficionados, and you have a show that’s a hit.” Ben Manilla commented on the creative partnership of The Guitar Show with Kevin Bacon. “The guitar is synonymous with Rock ‘n Roll. Together with Kevin Bacon and AMFM, we’ll give radio listeners what they crave: great music and an insider’s access to the guitar slingers they love.”
Bacon, recognized worldwide for his acting performances, has starred in such motion pictures as Apollo 13, A Few Good Men and Murder In the First. He debuted on Broadway, moving to motion pictures such as Animal House, Diner and Footloose. As a musician, Kevin is the other half of The Bacon Brothers, a successful new band with a sound described as forosoco – Folk, Rock, Soul and Country. Along with his brother, Michael, The Bacon Brothers released their first CD, aptly titled “Forosoco,” in 1997 and have been performed to sold out shows on the national club circuit. Kevin Bacon plays acoustic guitar and shares lead vocals.
